Doolin – our Great Dane Puppy
Doolin (Davishire’s Moving Hearts from California) is terrifically cute 🙂 Here is pictured at about 4 months old. When we picked him up, just under 3 months he was already 45 pounds. Now he seems to be putting on 3-4 pounds a week. Doolin has that beautiful blaze, white feet, white collar and white tail tip. He always looks dressed up, wearing a tuxedo, we can take him anywhere 🙂
Doolin’s first dog show will be in September. I’m taking him to handling classes now and he is doing great, just being a puppy. Taking him to handling classes is great because he gets used to new people approaching him and petting him.
I’ve had great luck in finding fun friends at the dog shows. I’ve had easy access to all the answers I need, like how do I stop my Great Dane puppy from eating the woodwork 🙂 Lots of chew toys help but a crate when we can’t watch him is invaluable! I’ve been told (by my dog show friends) that the worst chewing is during the teething period – 3-12 months.
