Doolin, our Mantle Dane is Winner’s Dog
Our Mantle Dane dog, was awarded more championship points at The Linn County show in Albany, Oregon this past weekend. Karen Hamlin handles Doolin beautifully in the ring. Doolin is a great joy to live with as he is truly everything a Great Dane should be – he is big, he is gentle and he is calm. Great Danes make wonderful companion animals as most don’t require a huge amount of exercise, but if you want to hike, they are happy to come with you. They simple want to spend time with their people. Doolin is no exception, he is never happier than when he is spending time with me. I’m sure this is part of why he enjoys going to dog shows so much.
When it is dog show time, Doolin stands by the front door making sure, I don’t forget the most important thing. He makes sure I don’t forget the dog. Doolin knows that it is time for a dog show because he gets a bath and his whiskers are shaved. So far, I’ve never forgotten to take Doolin to a show 🙂 I’m sure Doolin will never let me 🙂
